Both can work, but they solve different problems.
Wix is often attractive because it feels simple and quick to get started with. WordPress is usually stronger when a business wants more structure, more flexibility and a setup that can grow without hitting the same limits later.
For a very small brochure-style site, Wix can be fine. For a business that needs tailored service pages, stronger content control and more long-term freedom, WordPress is often the better fit.
